The Energy Policy Bill considers that Sweden’s energy efficiency targets should be reviewed with a view to promoting more clearly the use of energy in socio-economic terms and the efficient use of the energy system that contributes to the green transition.
Sweden therefore complies with the requirement in Article 24(10)(c) of the Renewables Directive that 90 % of final energy consumption in district heating and cooling systems is to take place in efficient systems and only needs to implement paragraph 1 of Article 24.
